Mrs. Jake Knause Rites Saturday
Colfax – (Special to The Daily News) Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at Des Moines for Mrs. Jake Knause, 70, former Colfax resident, who died Wednesday morning in Des Moines.
The services will be at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Des Moines at 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be at the McKeever cemetery near Colfax. The funeral party will arrive at the cemetery at about 4:00 p.m.
Mrs. Knause was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George W. Knause of Colfax. She and her husband, who preceded her in death 17 years ago, lived for many years in the Colfax vicinity, operating a farm in Poweshiek township for many years. They retired some 25 years ago and moved to Des Moines.
Mrs. Knause died at the home of her son, Dan, in Des Moines. She had been ill with gallstones and heart trouble.
Survivors include two children, Dan of Des Moines and Mrs. Lawrence Preston of Wells, Minn. She is also survived by Mrs. Robert Dawson of Colfax, a sister-in-law.
