Buried Near Colfax Sunday Afternoon
A. J. Pink Died at Home in Maxwell. Services Held in Mingo. Well Known Here
A. J. Pink who was born in Sherman township but who for the last few years has made his home on a farm near Maxwell died last week and funeral services were held in the Methodist church at Mingo on Sunday afternoon, October 14th. Interment was made in the McKeever cemetery north of Colfax.
He was born 62 years ago in Sherman township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pink, pioneer settlers of Jasper county. He attended the rural schools near his home and later began farming, living north of Colfax until about 18 years ago when he moved to Maxwell.
Mr. Pink had made his home on a farm during his entire life. Several years ago he was forced to retire from active farming because of ill health but maintained his residence on the farm.
He is survived by his widow and one son, Ray Pink. Two sons, Clarence and Frank preceded him in death. He is also survived by one brother, P. R. Pink of near Newton and four sisters, Mrs. Louisa Selbher of near Newton, Mrs. Julia Fogarty of Harlan, Mrs. Anna Rumbaugh of Des Moines and Mrs. Mary Cordray of the Greencastle neighborhood.
