John B. Rinaldo, 87, of Des Moines, died Monday, November 29, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
Graveside services will be Friday, December 3, at 11:00 a.m. at McKeever Cemetery.
Born November 29, 1912 in Wheaton, Illinois, son of Philip S. and Harriett Beach Rinaldo. John received a BA at Charleton College, in 1934; Harvard Graduate School in 1935; MA at University of Chicao in 1937; PHD in 1941.
Mr. Rinaldo lived in Colfax for 20 years before moving to Des Moines 7 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army-WWII. Mr. Rinaldo’s occupation: Archaeologist, Field Musseum of Natural History Chicago, Amerind Foundation, Dragoon, Arizona.
His is survived by his wife Ruth. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother.
Mr. Rinaldo was a member of the Society American Archaelogy, Fellow American Anthropological Association, Sigma X.
