Vivian Jean Battles, 72, passed away at her home in Colfax, on Monday, September 18, 2000. Memorial services were held at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax on Thursday, September 21, 2000. Officiating was Rev. David McNeeley. The body was cremated. Burial of cremains was at McKeever Cemetery in Colfax.
She was born in Colfax, February 15, 1928, the daughter of Emanuel and Anna H. (Dluhas) Kvasny. Vivian graduated from Colfax High School in 1946. She was employed for a time at Cross Jewelry Sore and the Terrace Inn. She later provided in-home care to area elderly. Vivian was married to Royal K. Battles for forty one years.
Surviving are her two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tim Battles of Colfax, and Kerry and Connie Battles of Mingo, two grandchildren, Joseph Royal Battles and Kari Lynn Battles and a sister, Norma Rindler of Bettendorf, Iowa. Preceding her in death were her parents, and a sister, Julia Hiemann. Vivian had attended the Hope Assembly of God Church in Colfax.
