Edith Fay Stayner, 93, of Colfax died of a heart ailment Monday at her daughter’s home in Urbandale. Services were held Wednesday, January 10 at Walter-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax with burial at McKeever Cemetery.
Mrs. Stayner was born in Colfax and lived in Colfax all her life. She was a homemaker and a nurse’s aide at Skiff Medical Center in Newton before retiring. She was a member of Howard Street Christian Church, Jasper County Music Chorus, Colfax Senior Citizens Chorus and a 4-H leader.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; a daughter, Barbara Pohlman of Urbandale, three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; three step-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-great-grandchildren.
