Golda Wheeler Services March 21
Golda Lee Wheeler, 91, died Tuesday, March 17, at the Newton Health Care Center, where she had been a resident for the past three years.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the Colfax United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Michael Orthel, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in McKeever Cemetery.
Eleanor Howell is the organist, and the soloist is JoAnn Orthel.
Pallbearers are William Pratt, Harold Hunter, Ben Ruggless, Roge Ruggless, Norm Jones, and Bill Knapp.
In charge of flowers are Mary Pratt and Almeta Hill.
Walters-Coburn Funeral Home of Colfax handled arrangements,
Survivors are two sons, Glen Wheeler of Tucson, Ariz. and Alan Wheeler of Colfax; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and two sisters.
The daughter of Lucien B. and Phoebe Jane Selix Saum, she was born in Unionville, Iowa on Sept. 22, 1900.
She graducated from high school and attended a business college. She was employed as a secretary at the Maytag Company until 1942.
She was married to Glen A. Wheeler in July, 1942, at Lancaster, Mo.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Colfax; a member of the U.M.W. of the church, and a life member of the O.E.S. Newton Chapter #100.
