Margaret Hill Rites Held Nov. 11
Funeral services for Margaret Lewis Hill, 82, a lifelong Colfax area resident, were held Monday, Nov. 11, at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Jerry Harris, pastor of the Colfax Baptist church, conducted services. Burial was in McKeever Cemetery north of Colfax.
The organist was Pat Evans, and the soloist was Walter Williams.
Casket bearers, all grandsons, were Rodney Pierce, Scott Pierce, Steven Pierce, Mark Hill, Russell Hill, Bradley Hill, Derrick Byal, and Dan Byal.
Mrs. Hill died Saturday Nov. 9, at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.
Survivors are a son, Harold of Colfax; two daughters, Marjorie (Mrs. Eugene) Pierce of Colfax and Marilyn (Mrs. Douglas) Byal of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hill, a homemaker, was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George, and a son, Harvey.
The daughter of Griffin and Florence Walter Lewis, she was born Oct. 23, 1909 in Oswalt.
She was married to George Hill March 23, 1926 in Missouri.
