James Savage, 94, died Thursday, March 31, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown after a long illness.
He was a former longtime resident of Des Moines.
Rosary was recited Sunday evening at Hamilton Funeral Home in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Visitation Catholic Church, also in Des Moines. Burial was in McKeever Cemetery north of Colfax.
He is survived by one son, James Savage of Des Moines; 3 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Mary; his parents; two brothers and five sisters.
He was an uncle of Clyde Brown of Colfax, Margaret Hardman of Newton and Preston Brown of Vancouver, Washington.
