Former Area Resident Dies In Des Moines
William O. Stackhouse, 65, of Des Moines, former area resident, died of a heart attack Saturday, Oct. 10, at his home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, with burial in McKeever Cemetery in Colfax.
Born in Mingo, he lived in Des Moines for the last 20 years. He was a truck driver for National By-Products Inc. and a member of the Iowa Pony Express.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie; four sons, Robert and Delbert, both of Des Moines, LaVeay of Colfax and Bill of Overland Park, Kan.; three daughters, Goldie Mae Begley of Boulder City, Nev., Sonia Hermanstorfer of Seattle, Wash., and Tilsia Stoltenburg of Colorado Spring, Colo.; two brothers, John of Osceola, Mo., and Lavern of Roseville, Ill.; three sisters, Gladys Cushman of Perry, Eva Mae Walker of Texarkana, Texas, and Betty Meyers of Texarkana, Ark.; and eight grandchildren.
