Long Time Colfax Resident Dies
Mrs. Rhea Cross, 66, longtime Colfax resident, passed away at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines Friday evening.
Mrs. Cross was born in Mahaska County and came to Colfax at a very young age. She attended Colfax schools. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Anthony.
In 1917, Mrs. Cross was married to John L. Cross in Colfax. Mrs. Cross is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Henry (Margaret) Kaldenberg of Des Moines, her mother, Mima Anthony of Des Moines, one brother William Anthony of Des Moines, one sister, Mrs. Stouffer of Des Moines, and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Cross was a member of the Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Poweshiek Women’s Club.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Colfax with the Rev. Marlow Reinholdt presiding.
Burial will be in the McKeever Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home in Colfax has charge of the arrangements.
