Des Moines – Anna Jane Brown Yoakum, 87, of Des Moines, a former resident of Colfax, died Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Barry Tritte, pastor of the Capital Heights United Methodist Church in Des Moines, will conduct services. Burial will be in the McKeever Cemetery north of Colfax.
Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors are three sons, Marvin of Russell, Harold of Newton and Max of Des Moines; a step-daughter, Martha Hayes of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Opal Hodgson of Colfax and Edith McDaniels of Ross, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Floyd Brown, a daughter, Lila Galligher; two sisters, Ethel Daniels and Faye Galligher; and a grandson.
Mrs. Yoakum, a homemaker, was a member of the Capital Heights United Methodist Church.
The daughter of John and Lavada Carpenter Brown, she was born June 2, 1901 in Marion County.
