Patricia Joan "Pat" Link, 82, of 115 S. Eighth Ave. W. died Tuesday, March 9, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Maxwell United Methodist Church in Maxwell with the Rev. Don Burket, pastor of the Maxwell United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Linda Butler, pastor of St. Luke United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Peoria Cemetery in rural Maxwell. Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.
Friends may call today at the funeral home after 3 p.m. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the American Heart Association or to the Peoria United Methodist Church and may be left at the funeral home or at the church the day of the service.
The daughter of Lloyd D. and Grace E. (Dimon) Palmer, she was born Sept. 2, 1931, in Grinnell. She was a 1949 graduate of Newton Senior High School. On Feb. 5, 1950, she married Raymond D. Link in Newton. She was a farmer's wife and homemaker.
Mrs. Link was an active member of the Peoria United Methodist Church in rural Maxwell and was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Peoria United Methodist Women, attended St. Luke United Methodist Church in Newton and was a member of the Graham Cemetery Association in rural Mingo. She lived in Mingo for 25 years prior to moving to Maxwell, and she lived in Maxwell for 26 years before moving back to Newton in 2002.
Survivors include her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Sally Link of Des Moines; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Judy and Clyde Grey of Greene, Vicky Link of Boone and Kris and Craig Weston of Newton; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, L.D. and Glenda Palmer of Montezuma.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
