ANKENY -- Dorothy Mae (Findlow) Madole, 84 of Ankeny, died Saturday, March 6, at Mercy Hospice House in Johnston.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Prairie City United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Poe officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held after 2 p.m. today at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny or Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

The daughter of William M. and Edith B. (Hayes) Findlow, she was born Sept. 16, 1919, near Percy. She graduated from Prairie City High School in 1937 and attended Simpson College for two years. She worked at Continental Western Insurance until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, animals and collectibles.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy J. and Barry Beuter of Iowa City; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald Jr. and Mary Ann Madole of Ankeny and Dan Madole of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William "Junior " Findlow; a great-granddaughter, Ella Mae Madole; and her special friend Allen Nebel.
