Joseph A. Krueger, 83, of 4338 Hwy. F-36 W. in Newton died Sunday, Feb. 8, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A memorial mass will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton with the Rev. Ernest Braida officiating. His body has been cremated. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wis. Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

The family will greet friends following the memorial mass in the McCann Center of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Jasper County or to Newton Public Library and may be left at the funeral home or at the church on the day of the service.

The son of Joseph J. and Magdalene (Deml) Krueger, he was born March 16, 1920, in Milwaukee, Wis. He graduated from Marquette High School in Marquette, Wis., in 1938 and attended Northwestern College. On Aug. 2, 1945, he married Anna M. Kunze in Chicago, Ill.

Mr. Krueger was a purchasing agent for Parsons and Hicklin in Des Moines. He retired in 1983. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles J. and Mary Krueger of Newton, John H. and Kay Krueger of El Cajon, Calif., and Robert J. and Patricia Krueger of Newton; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn Miller of Milwaukee, Wis., and Janet Larrat of Tarpon Spring, Fla.; and one brother, Robert E. Krueger of Conover, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
