PELLA -- Elizabeth A. Ter Louw, 92, of Pella, formerly of Sully, died Monday, April 19, at Hospice of Pella Comfort House in Pella.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Reformed Church in Pella with the Rev. Chris Piersma and the Rev. Norman Kolenbrander officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Pella with the Rev. Andy Kamphuis officiating. Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella is handling arrangements.
The daughter of William B. and Alice (Rietveld) Boot, she was born Feb. 1, 1912, in rural Sully. On Feb. 22, 1933, she married Simon G. Ter Louw. They farmed in the Sandridge neighborhood for 30 years. She was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Pella and was an active member of the women's Dorcas Prayer Group. In 1963, her husband went into full-time ministry and they served churches in Alberta, Canada, and Amherst, S.D.
After retirement, they moved back to Pella where her husband was the minister of calling at Trinity Reformed Church and a promoter for Words of Hope. She took an active part many ministries throughout the years.
Mrs. Ter Louw enjoyed helping people and often provided food and support for families in need. She enjoyed reading and writing.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Dean Risius of New Ulm, Minn., and Alice and Carroll Rempe of Mooresville, N.C.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Suzie Boot of Pella and Rosa Ter Louw of Grand Junction, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, John, Dick, Armour and Clarence Boot; and one sister, Helen Van Gorp.
