REASNOR -- Jarold N. Steenhoek, 83, of Reasnor died Sunday, May 9, at Hospice of Pella Comfort House in Pella.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Third Reformed Church in Pella with the Rev. Andy Kamphuis officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.
Visitation will be held Tuesday after noon and all day Wednesday at Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella. The family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Pella Comfort House or Third Reformed Church.
The son of Naldo C. and Maggie (Dykhuis) Steenhoek, he was born Oct. 26, 1920, southeast of Galesburg. He attended Brown country school through eighth grade. He worked as a hired farm hand until he married Helen Lucile Gaass on Dec. 5, 1946, in Prairie City. They farmed the family farm where he was born until his health declined and he became a resident of Griffin Nursing Center.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Norman L. Dieleman of Pella; a son and daughter-in-law, Jaren and Cathy Steenhoek of Pella; five grandsons; one sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Henry De Cook of Unionville, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Wilma Kaldenberg of Lynnville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin infant daughters, Carleen Ann and Colleen Faye; a brother, Gilbert; a brother-in-law, Harry E. Gaass; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Gaass
