Death of a Young Wife and Mother
Mrs. Anna Yost died at the home of her parents in Killduff on Friday evening, July 23rd. The circumstances of the death of this young wife and mother are of peculiarly sorrowful nature, and have brought sadness to the hearts of a large circle of friends who have known her from childhood.
A few weeks age, accompanied by her little son Freddie, she went for a visit to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Eichner, in Killduff, her young heart buoyant and happy in the prospect of a pleasant season with her loved ones, and little dreaming that the close of her life which had been so full of happiness and promise to her. She was recently prostrated by a severe attack of heart disease, and, although the care of mother and friends and the skill of physicians were exerted in her behalf, she continued to grow worse until death claimed her.
Mrs. Yost was born at the country home of her parents in this county, July 25, 1870, where she lived through all her happy childhood days until the fall of 1891, when her parents moved to Newton and on the 28th of October of the same year she was united in marriage to William Yost. To them was born one child, Freddie, now four years of age.
The young mother longed so ardently to live for the sake of her boy and other loved ones, and life had so many charms for her; but she was resigned to the will of the Master.
She had been a member of the M. E. Church at Killduff for some time.
Besides her husband and little son, she leaves father, mother, five brothers and one sister to mourn their loss. They have the sympathy of all in their great affliction.
Funeral services were held at the home of her parents in Killduff at 1 o’clock Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. V. Cowan, after which the remains were taken to Blue Grass in Scott County for interment. ~ The Newton Record Friday, July 30, 1897
