Death of Henry Worth
Henry Worth, one of the leading citizens of Monroe, and proprietor of the Monroe Hotel, died at his home on Wednesday morning of last week, the funeral services were held at the M. E. Church on Saturday.
Mr. Worth was born on a farm two miles south of Monroe on the 17th of July 1848, and his whole life has been spent in the same vicinity. Since 1875 he has lived in Monroe. He was married to Miss Mary Yoakum, March 2, 1871, and to them were born two sons, Elton and Zoro. He united with the M. E. Church in 1894.
He was a good man, esteemed and respected by everybody. ~ The Newton Record Thursday, January 6, 1898
