Wildman M. Woods
Wildman M. Woods, 77, farmer who spent his entire life in Buena Vista township, died at his home at 12:55 am Sunday.
Survivors are his wife, Pearl; two sons, Merle of Burbank, Calif., and Maurice of Newton; three brothers, Wilbur and Fremont, both of Newton, and Glen of Oakland, Calif., six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his parents and one son.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Johnson Funeral home with the Rev. W. W. Johnson, minister of the United Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be at Slagel cemetery.
Born to Alexander and Price Woods on a farm southeast of Newton April 22, 1882, he married Pearl Vanscoy March 7, 1906 at Sully. He was educated in Jasper county schools. ~ Newton Daily News, June 1, 1959
