In Memory of Mrs. Geo. White

Lillian Jesse Holdridge was born in East Highgate, Vt., December 11, 1857. In 1867 she moved with her parents to Monroe. At a very early age she was married to Mr. Pease. She was again married to Geo. W. White, December 8, 1883.

She leaves her husband and one brother, Filian C. Holdridge, to mourn her loss, in company with her niece, Mrs. Cadda McCroskey, who was reared in the family home and cherishes almost a daughter’s love for the deceased.

She was raised by Christian parents and often spoke of joining some church but delayed. During her last illness, a period of severe suffering, she often spoke of her faith in God and on the morning of August 3, 1897, she passed away from earth with the prayer, “Lord take me home, I am so tired.” She died after a year of intense suffering at the age of 39 years, 7 months and 22 days. ~ The Newton Record Friday, August 6, 1897
