HENRY PROPP DEAD. Resident of City for Sixteen Years Passes.

Henry J. Propp, a resident of Marshalltown for the last sixteen years, died at 7 o'clock this morning at his home, 111 North Second avenue, death being due to complications resulting from arterio sclerosis. Mr. Propp has been in poor health for the last eighteen months and was confined to his bed the last week.

He was born in Freeport, Ill., Aug. 22, 1862. At the age of 15 years he came to Iowa with his parents, who settled in Jasper County. He continued to make his home on a farm in Jasper County until sixteen years ago, when he came to this city.

Mr. Propp was married to Minnie Meise, in June, 1897, at the Meise home, in Marshall County, just north of the Jasper County line. Mrs. Propp died in April, 1901. They were the parents of two children, Mrs. M. H. Lorenzen, Waterloo, and Meta Propp who makes her home with Mr. and Mrs. Gus Meise, at Melbourne.

Mr. Propp was married a second time, to Martha Knoble, in this city, Dec. 14,1904. They were the parents of five children, four of whom are living. The Children are Marjorie, with the research department of the State University of Iowa; Phyllis and Helen, students at the state university, and Martha, at home. Margaret, a twin sister of Marjorie died in infancy. The wife and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Achtemeier, Newton, and Mrs. Mary Herzog, Melbourne, also survive. A brother, Fred Propp, died in June 1924.

Mr. Propp was a member of the Reform Church in Jasper County and since living in this city had attended the Evangelical Church of Peace.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Monday afternooon, from the Pursel funeral home, in charge of Rev. Edwin J. Koeh. The body will be taken to the Horn Church, north of Newton, where a short service will be held at 3 o'clock. Burial will be in the church Cemetary.
