Poulson, Edward Elmer

Edward Elmer, son of Wesley and Elizabeth Poulson was born near Valeria, March 15th, 1881. He spent his entire life near Valeria and Greencastle with the exception of 12 years spent in South Dakota, Wisconsin and Montana.

He has been in poor health for the past 15 years and since having the influenza, 5 years ago has been a constant sufferer from asthma. He departed this life March 2nd, 1924 at his home in Valeria at the age of 42 years, 11 months and 16 days.

He leaves to mourn his loss a mother, step-father, one sister Minnie Schwab of Pine Grove, Mont., four brothers George of Dunnell, Minn.; William of Baxter, Iowa; Charles who is in a hospital at Davenport, Iowa; and Lester of Valeria. One sister, Mary preceded him in death. He also leaves 18 nieces and nephews and other relatives.

As long as health permitted he was a worker in the Sunday school and church. For the past 3 years he has been janitor at the schoolhouse. The school children attended the services in a body at the Methodist Church.

Tuesday afternoon at 1:30. Rev. Porterfield of Mitchellville delivered the sermon speaking words of comfort and cheer. The burial was held in Greencastle in the family lot. His brothers, George, Will and Lester and nephews Fred Dixon, Will and Lloyd Schwab acted as pall bearers.

We wish to thank all of our neighbors and friends for their help and sympathy during the illness and death of Edward Poulson also the Valeria friends for their beautiful flowers.
