In Memory of Robert W. Parker

Robert Wayne Parker

Robert W. Parker, age 70, passed away on Monday, November 28, 1988 at the Altoona Manor in Altoona, Iowa. He was born at Newton, Iowa, on November 4, 1918 the son of Hugh and Ethel Emmack Parker. A 1937 graduate of the Mingo High School, he was united in marriage to Mary Alice Gannon in 1947. She preceded him in death in 1965. Surviving are his six children: Helen Jones, Colfax; Jean Parker, North Liberty, Iowa; Susan Manning, Mitchellville; Mary Jo Parker, Minneapolis; and Edward and David Parker, both of Mingo; 5 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Preceding him in death were his wife, parents and 2 infant children.

Mr. Parker was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving as a pilot in the European, African and Middle Eastern areas. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Colfax, Cyclops Post No. 534 American Legion of Mingo, the VFW Post No. 1655 at Newton, Mr. Parker was a lifelong Mingo and Colfax area farmer.
