Mrs. R. Parker Dies Saturday; Services Tuesday

Mary Alice (Gannon) Parker

MINGO - Mrs. Robert (Mary Alice) Parker, 42, a lifelong rsident of Mingo community, died Saturday at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Churchat Colfax.

Father Karl Holtkamp of the Immaculate Conception Church will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery.

Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today at Walters Funeral Home in Colfax.

Survivors are her husband; six children, Helen Ann, Jeanie, Susie, Mary Jo, Edward, and David, all at home; her mother, Mrs. Leo Gannon of Mingo; a brother, William Gannon of Mingo, and three sisters, Miss Teresa Ann Gannon of Chicago, Mrs. Frances Sullivan of Oak Park, Ill., and Sister Mary St. John of Davenport.

Mrs. Parker was a member of the Catholic Church at Valeria, the Altar and Rosary Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.

The daughter of Leo and Teresa Gannon, she was born Sept. 9, 1923 in Des Moines.

She attended Mingo schools, was graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Des Moines in 1940 and from Ottumwa Heights College at Ottumwa in 1942.

Mrs. Parker taught school in Mingo for 5 years.

She was married to Robert Wayne Parker July 26, 1946 at Colfax.
