Mrs. Mulbrook, 77, Dies at Hospital This Morning

Mulbrook, Emma (Lightfoot)

Mrs. Emma Mulbrook, 77, 502 West Eighth street North, died of a heart attack at 9:50 a.m. today at Skiff Medical hospital.

Mrs. Mulbrook was a resident of Jasper county for a perios of 71 years, the last 30 having been spent in Newton.

Born to Julia and Isaiah Lightfoot Sept. 17, 1876, at Brownsville, Mo., she married Jacob Mulbrook in 1893. They farmed in the Kellogg community before moving to Newton.

Survivors are one son, Wendell Of Newton; seven daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Elizabeth) Russell, Oskaloosa, Mrs. Olie (Margaret) Gildersleeve, Grinnell, Mrs. Robert (Katherine) Hall, Ankeny, Mrs. Everette (Demarise) Richards, Newton, Mrs. Will (Julia) Marshall, Newton, Mrs. Lawrence (Carrie) Benjamin, Greeley, Colo., and Mrs. Rex (Odetha) Hickney, Gifford, Ia.; one brother Frank Lightfoot, Newton; four sisters, Mrs. Walter (Bess) Davis, Indianola, Mrs. Robert (Lula) Smith, San Diego, Cal., Mrs. Pearl Leonard, Long Beach, Cal., and Mrs. Kate Ballard, Newton.

Preceding her in death were her husband, four sons, Don, Frank, LeRoy, and Richard, and two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at Morgan-Loehr funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Newton Union cemetery.
