Mulbrook Rites are Held Today

Mulbrook, Alice (Barnes)

Funeral services for Mrs. Peter Mulbrook who died yesterday morning from dropsy and heart trouble at her home in Kellogg township, were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Morgan Funeral home. Captain H. Stubbs, of the Salvation Army, officiated. Music was furnished by Mrs. Herbert Stubbs and Mrs. G. Mutchler who sang two duets, "Going Down the Valley" and "I Shall See Him Face to Face," accompanied by Mrs. Lottie Tice.

Burial was made in Newton Union cemetery. The pallbearers included Fred Altemeier Jr., Ola Gildersleeve, Clifford Russell, Richard Mulbrook, Leroy Mulbrook and Warren Koss.

Alice Barnes was born in Blair, Ill., Jan. 27, 1873. She came to Jasper County about 8 years ago from Kansas City, Mo., where she had lived for a number of years. She had been in poor health for the last two years and had been bedfast since Dec. 29.

She was united in marriage March 27, 1919 to Peter Mulbrook and had lived on a farm near Kellogg until her death. She had been a Christian for a number of years, but last March became a member of the Salvation Army of Newton.

She is survived by her husband and two sisters, Ethel ?, of Cherokee, Kan., and Mrs. Anna ? of Sparta, Ill., and one ?, Miss Belle McNulty of Sparta, Ill.
