MARY MCMANUS DIES AT NOON IN HOSPITAL

Miss Mary McManus, 81, a native of Ireland who has lived in Jasper County for the past 50 years, died about noon today in Skiff Memorial Hospital. She had broken her hip several months ago, and had been bedridden since that time.

Survivors include a number of nephews and nieces. Those in Newton are Mrs. Ed Lovelace, Mrs. Robert Snook, Mrs. C.A. Stabus, William Smith, Charles Smith, Vernon Smith and Hugh Smith, Des Moines Veterans hospital. A brother, John McManus of Denver, CO, died last month. Funeral services will be held in Sacred Heart church, Friday morning at 10 am. The rosary will be recited at the Morgan Funeral Home at 7:45 pm, Thursday. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery, and Father T.J. McCann will officiate.
