McCord, Jennie

Died - At St. George European Hotel, East Locust Street, Des Moines, August 29, 1895, at 9:30 p. m., Miss Jennie C. McCord, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. N. McCord, aged 23 years.

Miss McCord was born in Newton, Iowa, and her remains will be taken there for burial.

The remains of Miss McCord will be brought to Newton tomorrow (Saturday) and taken to the residence of Sheriff McCord. Funeral will be from the Presbyterian Church Sunday at 5:00 o'clock.

The notice of Miss McCord's death was given last week. The body was brought to Newton for burial, the services being held at the Presbyterian Church at three o'clock, conducted by Rev. Rice.

Jennie, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. N. McCord, was born in Newton, April 4, 1871; removed with her parents to Ord, Nebraska, in 1882. They returned to Newton two years ago and a few months ago removed to Des Moines, where Jennie died Thursday evening, August 29. Miss McCord was a Christian girl, a member of the Presbyterian Church, merry, loveable, of artistic temperament and with decided talent for art. Much sorrow was expressed at her untimely death by her many friends and companions in Newton.
