Death of Mrs. T. T. McCord
McCord, Elizabeth (Campbell)

In our last issue we only had time to merely mention the death of Mrs. Thomas T. McCord, which occurred at her home in Taylor, Nebraska, on the 3rd inst (of this month). The bereaved husband arrived in Newton with the remains on Saturday evening last and the funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church at 2:30 o'clock Sabbath afternoon conducted by the pastor, Rev. Rice and attended by a large number of old friends and neighbors of the deceased.

Mrs. McCord was born in Orleans, Orange County, Indiana, December 24, 1830, and was a little past 64 years of age at the time of her death. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Campbell. She was united in marriage to Thomas T. McCord, in 1865, and to them was born one child, Heber McCord, of Chicago. But during her married life she was all that a loving, tender mother could be to four motherless children of her late husband and by them loved as if she had been their own. She was a noble Christian in the fullest sense. To her husband and family all unite in according the tenderest sympathy.
