Edward M. Lindley was born in Newton, Aug. 9, 1856, and has always resided here until within the last few years. He attended the medical department of the Iowa State University at Iowa City one year. He then went to Ann Arbor, Mich., attending the State University, where he graduated in June, 1879.

He began the practice of medicine at Thronburg nearly two years ago. There he resided until his death. He was married June 29th, 1882, to Miss Kittie B. McCleery, of Ann Arbor, whom he met while attending school there. He was taken sick at his home in Thornburg Aug. 1st, and was removed to his sister's Mrs. Silas Blanchard, at Montezuma Aug. 7, where he died Aug. 14, 1882, at 4 o'clock A.M. The cause of his death was congestion of the bowels. The funeral took place from the residence of Mr. M. A. Blanchard, at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
