Newton Man Dies Today
Funeral Services Thursday Afternoon for Albert G. Leeper of This City
Leeper, Albert G.

Albert G. Leeper, well known Newton resident, died early this morning at his home on First Avenue West. Mr. Leeper had been ill for several months suffering from heart trouble and had been in the habit of sleeping in his arm chair, being unable to lie down in comfort.

When Mrs. Leeper rose this morning she discovered her husband dead in his chair, and it is the opinion of physicians that he died in his sleep.

Mr. and Mrs. Leeper have made their home in Newton for a number of years, prior to which they lived on a farm near here. Mr. Leeper had spent practically all of his life in Jasper county.

Surviving him are his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Alice Leeper Brooks of California, who is visiting in Newton. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Murdoch Funeral home and will be conducted by Rev. S. A. McCollam pastor of the United Presbyterian church. Burial will be made in the Metz cemetery. Friends are requested to omit flowers.
