RITES WEDNESDAY FOR OLE LEE DIES SATURDAY
Ole LeeOle Lee, 74, Rte. 2, Grinnell died late Saturday evening at a local hospital. He had been in failing health for the last few weeks. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. L. H. Streich, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church, officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Nettie Johnson and soloist will be Mrs. Ann Rohr.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jonas Hendrickson, Hugh Louden, Harold McCullough, Harley McIlrath, Sam Rasmussen and Harry Rutherford. Burial will be in Prairie View cemetery at Gilman.
Born Nov. 22nd, 1885, at Stavanger, Norway, he was the son of Tore and Taletta Lee and received his education in that country before coming to the United States over 50 years ago.
He was united in marriage with Ingaborg Lovig on March 4th, 1911, near Newburg. To this union were born six children: Harold B. Lee of Gainsville, Fla.; Lt. Col. Orville Lee with the United States Air Force at Anchorage, Alaska; Ivan Lee of Berkley, Claif.; Charlie Lee of Cedar Rapids; and Mrs. Lee (Bernice) Hause of Gilman; and Thomas Lee, deceased.
Also surviving are his wife in Grinnell; four brothers, Tore, Andrias, Toralf and Edward, and a sister, Mrs. Marie Olson, all living in Norway.
He is also survived by 11 grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Thomas in April of 1953.
Mr. Lee had farmed in the Newburg vicinity until his retirement and was a member of the Grinnell Elks Lodge.
