Mingo – Raymond Lee Buckley, 60, of Mingo, died Tuesday, July 16, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 19, at 10 a.m. at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax. The Rev. Thomas Carpe, pastor of the church, will conduct services.
Burial will be in the McKeever Cemetery in Newton.
Friends may call at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax after noon Thursday. Family visitation will be Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Buckley was born Feb. 24, 1936, in Newton, the son of Raymond and Etta May Wickliff Buckley.
He was married to Rosa Mary Bailey, who preceded him death. Together the couple had a son.
He was married to Viola Parkhurst, July 2, 1961, in Unionville, Mo.
Mr. Buckley had worked for the Rock Island Railroad, was a construction worker and was a self-employed logger. He was also a member of the Central Iowa Coon Hunters Association.
Survivors are his wife, a son, William of Marion, four daughters, Le Anna Buckley, Betty Brant and Amber McMahon, all of Colfax, and Loretta Van Weelden of Sully, and three grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Arnold of Des Moines and Zane of Drakesville, and six sisters, Dorothy Breckenridge of Monroe, Jessie Couch and Violet Jean Revell, both of Newton, Molly Warrick of Valeria, Joy Christen of Independence, Mo., and Josephine Bell of Colfax.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons in infancy, a brother, Ralph; and two sisters, Carrie and Ruth.
