Selma Ottilia Anderson Lane

Funeral services for Mrs. Selma O. Lane, 67, were held at 1:00 p.m. today at Toland Funeral home. The Rev. Ralph Eckard, pastor of the Lutheran Church officiated and burial was at Oak View cemetery at Albia.

Pallbears were Gene Lane, James Lane, Paul Lane, David Lane, Donald Anderson, Richard Anderson. Mrs. Jessie Dray, Mrs. Frances Frame and Mrs. Harry Selbher were in charge of the flowers. Dick McKibben, the soloist sang, "Sometime We'll Understand" and "Beyond the Sunset" with Mrs. Paul Murdy at the organ.

Mrs. Lane died at the home of her son, Philip Lane, 1:54 a.m. Sunday. Death was attributed to heart ailment.

Mrs. Lane is survived by her husband, George F. Lane, 5 sons, Kenneth Lane, Edward Lane, Philip Lane, Leo Lane, Don Lane, 19 grandchildren, 2 brothers, Axel Anderson of Melcher and Albert Anderson of Temperance, Michigan. She was preceded in death by a sister and son as well as her parents.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Par Anderson, she was born October 8, 1888 in Sweden and came to the United States when six months old. She was married to George F. Lane July 16, 1910 at Albia. She resided in Albia for many years before moving to Newton in 1927. Mrs. Lane was a member of the Lutheran church.
