Marcella (Bagnall) Lane

Marcella Lane, 76, of Newton died of a heart attack Tuesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton, with burial at Newton Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Lane had lived in Newton all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of United Presbyterian Church, Skiff Medical Center Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 303.

She is survived by her husband, Donald F.; two sons, Bob of Newton and Tom of Vinton; a daughter, Mary Douds of Marshalltown; a sister, Wilma Lane of Newton; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marcella Lane Memorial Fund.

Marcella Lane, 76, of 1115 W. 16th St. S. died of a heart attack Tuesday, October 15, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. John Zieman of United Presbyterian Church in Newton officiating. Burial will be at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where the family will be available form 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Marcella Lane memorial fund and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Albert and Ethel (Woodruff) Bagnall, she was born Aug. 23, 1926, in Newton. She was a 1945 gradate of Newton Senior High School.

On June 1, 194, she married Donald F. Lane in Newton. Mrs. Lane was a homemaker and a member of the United Presbyterian Church, 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 303 and Skiff Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Connie of Newton and Tom and Dana of Vinton; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jim Douds of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Lane of Newton, and a sister-in-law, Marge Bagnall of Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.
