Ethel Kuehl
Newton, IA - Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today in First Lutheran Church for Mrs. Ethel Kuehl, 62, patient and volunteer worker in the Jasper County Home. She died there Wednesday.
A paying guest in the home about four years, after circulatory problems induced by diabetes forced amputation of both of her legs at the knee, Mrs. Kuhl used her skilled hands to teach the other patients handcraft work.
"Ethel has been a tonic for all the other patients as she bustles about in her wheel chair. Never downhearted herself, she has done all she can to lift the spirits of the others," Mrs. Clarence Ripper, stewardess at the home said.
Mrs. Kuehl is survived by two sons, seven granchildren and a sister. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Pythian Sisters lodge.
