Obituary
King, Albert B.

A. B. King died at his home in this city, Monday, March 11, 1895, at 1 p. m., after a protracted illness.

Albert B. King, son of Mr. and Mrs. John King, was born in Parish, Edgar County, Illinois, May 6, 1849. He came with his parents to Jasper County when a boy, and has since resided with his parents at Newton or Monroe, except a few years when he was in business first at Harlan, then at Humboldt, Iowa.

He was married to Alice E. Walker at Monroe, October 17, 1878. To them two children were born, Mabel and Claude, who with their mother are left to mourn the loss of a kind, devoted and loving husband and father.

Mr. King had been a faithful member of the Congregational Church of a number of years, uniting with the church at Monroe during the pastorate there of Rev. C. C. Harrah. Mr. King was never robust and during the last four or five years he has been in poor health, but with unflinching determination has continued to perform his daily duties at the store, where he was ably assisted by his devoted and helpful wife.

The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Congregational Church, conducted by Rev. Harrah. Interment in Newton Cemetery.
