Mrs. Clara Killin’s Death

Mrs. Clara [should be Carrie] Killin died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Towsley, this, Friday, morning about two o’clock. Mrs. Killin has been a great sufferer for many months, and death to her was but the entering into rest. She would have been thirty-four years of age at her next birthday, March 28th. The funeral services will be held in the M. E. Church, of which she was a member, on Sunday afternoon. ~ The Newton Record 12 Mar 1897

----------------------------------
Mrs. Carrie Towsley Killin was born in Ellisburgh, New York, March 28, 1862. At the age of two years she removed with her parents to Iowa, where she has spent the remainder of her life. Last June it became evident to her friends that the dread disease consumption had claimed her for its victim. Since that time she has been a patient sufferer. In spite of all that loving hands could do, she gradually grew weaker and weaker, yet her faith in Christ remained unshaken. March 12, 1897, she received the summons to come higher. She departed in peace to meet her loved ones and to be with Jesus. The funeral was held in the M. E. Church Sunday afternoon. ~ The Newton Record, Friday, March 19, 1897.
