GREEN CASTLE WOMAN DIES AT COLFAX SUNDAY
Mother of Wm. G. Poulson Passes Away at
Colfax Sanitarium at the Age of 80 Years

Funeral services for Mrs. Silas Kilgore, mother of William G. Poulson of Baxter, were held Tuesday afternoon from the Hartnett funeral home in Colfax. The Rev. B. W. Northrop, pastor of the Community Congregational church of Baxter, was in charge.

Mrs. Kilgore passed away Sunday, April 12, 1936, at the Colfax Sanitarium.

Following is the obituary as used at the services:

Rachel Elizabeth Kilgore, daughter of Hezekiah and Lydia Ann Woods, was born in Ohio August 17, 1855. She passed away at the Colfax Sanitarium April 12, 1936, at the age of 80 years, 7 months, and 24 days.

When a small child her parents moved from Ohio and settled at Newton, Iowa. A few years later she came with her parents to Green Castle, Iowa, and resided in and around there practically all her life with the exception of a few years in Madison county.

She was married to J.W. Poulson in 1869. Three children preceded her in death. They are Mary E., Edward E., and Charles C. Four children survive to mourn her death. They are William G. of Baxter, Iowa, George W, of Granada, Minn., Minnie B. of Forest Grove, Mont., and Lester of Valeria, Iowa. Also one sister Josephine of Newton, 18 grandchildren, 12 Great grandchildren, besides a host of friends are left to mourn.

In 1897 she was married to Nelson Hurst. He died in 1927. In 1930 she married Silas Kilgore, who also remains to mourn her death.

She has spent an active life and has endeared herself to many. She was a faithful wife and a loving mother. She was always ready to help those in sickness or need. She will be greatly missed by her many relatives and friends, but the many good deeds of her life will be long remembered.

Note: On a similar obit it was stated that she was buried at McKeever, cemetery.
