NEWTON WOMAN DIES SUDDENLY
Mrs. Peter Helphrey Succumbs to Heart Attack Which Followed Short Illness.

Helphrey, Sarah Elizabeth (Kennedy)

Mrs. Peter Helphrey, a lifelong resident of Jasper county, died at 9 o’clock Sunday morning at her home on South Second Avenue East after an illness of two weeks from grippe. Heart failure was the immediate cause of her death, which came unexpectedly.

Surviving her are her daughter Miss Maggie Helphrey and one son Beryl Helphrey. A sister, Mrs. John Kendig also survives.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Christian church with Rev. Paul E. Becker in charge. Burial will be made in the Newton cemetery. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News April 5, 1926
