Former Resident Dies at Clarinda
Harrah, George Dodge

George Dodge Harrah, 89, former Newton area resident, died at a Clarinda hospital Sunday.

Graveside rites will be held at 1 pm Tuesday at the Wittemberg Cemetery with the Rev. David Williams officiating.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Herman Earhorn of Omaha; one son, George Andrew Harrah of Concord, Calif.; and one grandson and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Harrah spent his early life in Newton where he farmed and was a well-known cattle breeder later in Nebraska and Mississippi. He returned to Iowa near Murray while in his sixties. He was educated in Newton schools.

Born to Albert L. and Bessie Dodge Harrah in the Wittemberg area February 10, 1879, he married Blanche Dunham of Wittemberg. She died in 1897.

Later he married Neva Andrews of Newton and Maude Miller of Kellogg. His last wife was Rhea Sparling of Omaha.
