Obituary
Grove, Malvina (Carey)

Galesburg - Malvina Grove died at her home in Buena Vista Township, Sunday evening, March 3, 1895.

Malvina Carey, daughter of Morris and Johanna Carey, was born April 7, 1837, in Hocking County, Ohio, moved with her parents to Des Moines County, Iowa, in 1839; then came to Jasper County in 1850, in which place she has lived ever since.

She was married to Jacob L. Grove in 1867. To them were born five children: two boys and three girls; four of whom were with her during her last illness, one daughter having preceded her to the better land. In early life she gave her heart to God, and joined the M. E. Church, of which she was a faithful member until she was called to membership in the Church Triumphant. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, an affectionate sister, a kind friend and neighbor, and was loved by all who knew her.

The funeral sermon was preached at Mr. Zion by Rev. Phillips, March 5th, then was laid to rest in Hewitt Cemetery.

The bereaved husband and family have the sympathy of the community in their great affliction. We sorrow not as those who have no hope, for our loss is her eternal gain.
