Clifford Gerhart Died Tuesday Sept. 26
Clifford Earl Gerhart

Clifford Gerhart, 64, long-time resident of Mingo, died Tuesday morning, September 26, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines

Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) 2:00 p.m. at the Colfax Interfaith Spiritual Center. Burial will be in McKeever Cemetery. Rev. Albert McMurrin of Des Moines will conduct the services

Survivors are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Arlin (Helen Elizabeth) Dodd of Des Moines and Mrs. Ronald (Delores Marie) Robinett of Mitchellville; three sons, Charles Frederick of Mingo, Kenneth Dee of Nairobi, Kenya, Africa, and James H. of Arvada, Colorado; two half brothers, Raymond Johnson of Des Moines and Clarence Johnson of Fayetteville, North Carolina, one half sister, Bernice Hanson of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and twelve grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, a step father and two grandchildren

The son of Charlie and Anna Gibson Gerhart, he was born Dec. 9, 1913 at Metz, Iowa. He attended East High School in Des Moines. June 29, 1934 he was united in marriage to Beulah DeReus at Valeria, Iowa. He served as Mayor of Mingo for six years and was Mayor of Valeria for seventeen years
