REVEREND GEORGE W. FRAKER KILLED
George W. FrakerA dispatch was received last Saturday stating that the Rev. George W. Fraker was killed on the railroad at a small station nine miles west from Knowville, Tenn. He had just arrived from Virginia and it is supposed that he was walking on the track and being very deaf did not hear the approaching train and was run over by it. This will be painful news to many of his Jasper County friends.
During the war he was Union man in Tenn. and served the Union much valuable service. He went to Tenn. and Virginia some months ago to get evidence to enable him to get a pension and our information is that he has been very sucessful in getting the evidence needed and of obtaining the pension he so highly deserved.
The information of the accident is very meager and his son-in-law has twice telegraphed for more information and to have his body sent to Newton. Up to the time this item was written no answer had been received.
