SERVICES TUESDAY FOR ORVILLE FOSTER
Orville FosterFuneral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday (July 11) in the First Methodist Church in Newton for Orville J. Foster, 47, of Newton and formerly of Grinnell who died Saturday evening at his home.
Dr. Edwin Frohardt, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Foster was born to Ralph and Ethel Vaughan Foster on Oct. 16, 1919 in Grinnell. On Aug. 28, 1939, he married Thelma Mae Dewey in Princeton, Mo. A die cast operator at the Maytag Co., Mr. Foster had lived in Newton since 1950. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the First Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; four sons - - - Dennis of Newton, James Lee who is stationed at Ft. Benning, Ga. with the U. S. Army, Michael of Clarksville, Tenn., and Setphen of the home; one daughter - - - Lynn of the home; three grandchildren; one brother - - - Benny Foster of Fairfield, Iowa; three sisters - - - Mrs. Lawrence (Clara) Wallis of Grinnell, Mrs. Carl (Doris) Bineger of Grinnell, and Mrs. Ed (Edna) Ericson of Marshalltown; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Foster was preceded in death by one brother, Wilbur, and his parents.
