SERVICES FRIDAY FOR HAZEL FOSTER
Hazel Darlene Foster (Foster)Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home for Mrs. Hazel Darlene Foster, 49, of Rte. 2, Gilman, who died Tuesday morning at a Grinnell hospital following a brief illness. The Rev. Chester E. Custer, pastor of the Grinnell Methodist church, will officiate at the services. Vocal music will be provided by Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Palmer; Mrs. Willard Heffner will be organist. Pallbearers will be Virgil Strand, Russell Koger, Doyle Weaver, Donald Weaver, Raymond McIlrath and Roger Sears. Burial will be in Hazelwood cemetry. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.
The daughter of LeRoy and Bessie Thompson Foster, Mrs. Foster was born June 8, 1918, in Glenwood, Minn., one of a family of seven children. The family moved to the Grinnell area and she attended local schools. On May 27, 1937, she was united in marriage with Paul Andrew Foster. To this union were born two daughters and one son. Mrs. Foster was a member of the Pleasant Hour Club. Survivors include her husband; two daughters - - - Mrs. Wayne (Linda) Watts of Marshalltown, and Miss Rosemary Foster of the home; one son, David Paul Foster of the home; her father, LeRoy Foster; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Scott, Devin Wayne and Rebecca Rennee Watts of Marshalltown; four sisters - - - Mrs. Homer (Anna Marie) McCormack of Hacinda Heights, Calif., Mrs. Virgil (Marian) Johnson of Grinnell, Mrs. Floyd (Barbara) Innis of Grinnell, and Miss Nancy Foster of San Gabriel, Calif.; and one brother, LeRoy William Foster of Kellogg. Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her mother in 1953 and one sister, Frances, in infancy.
