Mrs. Eva Fay Dead
Fay, Eva

Many eyes will be dimmed with tears, and hearts ache with sincere sorrow, on account of the death of Mrs. Eva Fay, which occurred at Ryan’s Hotel in Colfax Tuesday evening at six o’clock. Her disease was quick consumption. For several years she had been engaged in the millinery business here and was well known. She leaves one child, a little girl about six years of age, for whom only the mother cares to live. The remains were taken to Mitchellville yesterday afternoon for burial beside her father. We are without further particulars.

Mrs. Eva Fay, whose death at Colfax we mentioned last week, was buried on Wednesday beside her aged father in the cemetery at her old home in Mitchellville. Her only brother, Reuben Fay, of Harlan, Ia., accompanied by his wife, have been here this week closing out his sister’s millinery stock and settling up her business affairs. To the brother, Mrs. Fay willed everything, and left to his care the little seven-year-old daughter, Ruby, who by her sweet innocent manners has won her way into the hearts of our people generally, who earnestly pray that the little one’s future life may be as full of sunshine as possible. The poor mother’s only desire for living was on account of this little daughter who had been all the world to her since her unhappy marriage of eight or nine years ago.
