Feehan, Gennie (Cupp)

Gennie Marie Feehan, 51, of Newton, died of cancer, Sunday, Oct. 22, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton with the Rev. Ernest Braida, parish priest, officiating. Burial will be at Metz Cemetery in rural Newton.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Pence Funeral Home in Newton where family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Hospice of Jasper County will be accepted.

The daughter of Charlie and Evelyn Josephine McGee Cupp, she was born Aug. 31, 1949 in Oskaloosa. She graduated from Newton High School. She married Richard Feehan Dec 24, 1968, in Newton.

A lifelong resided of Jasper County, she lived in Kellogg, Monroe and Newton. Mrs. Feehan worked as a housekeeper at area motels and was an associate at Wal-Mart. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton and enjoyed crocheting, writing and collecting angels.

Survivors include her husband; a son, James of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Mary Feehan of Newton, a brother, Charles Cupp of Des Moines; two sisters, Shellie Jones and Lorrie Cupp-Symmonds, both of Newton; her parents of Marshalltown; and her mother-in-law, Mildred Feehan of Melrose. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law.
