Evans, Harry B.

Services for Harry B. Evans, 85, of Americana Health Care Center, 300 Laurel St., will be at noon Tuesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery at Newton.

Mr. Evans died of emphysema Saturday at Veterans Hospital.

A retired factory laborer, he was born in the Linn County community of Paris and Lived in Newton before moving to Des Moines 35 years ago.

Surviving are three sons, Fred of Des Moines, Charles of Atalissa and Joe of San Diego, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Esther Nelson of Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Mae Morgan of Clinton, Mrs. Betty Berneau of Grinnell, Mrs. Doris Pagliai of Charleston, Ill., and Mrs. Phyllis Ammeter of Central City, Ia., 23 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
