Harry Emmack, Born in County, Dies at Colfax

COLFAX -- Harry Emmack, 63, lifetime resident of Jasper county, died at his home here at three o'clock this morning. He had been ill for some time with heart trouble.

Mr. Emmack was born in May of 1887 to Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Emmack. He farmed most of his life in the Newton and Colfax area, retiring and moving to Colfax in March of this year.

He is survived by his widow, of Colfax; one daughter, Mrs. Jack Tracy, and two sons, Wendall and Lowell, of Long Beach, Cal.; four grandchildren, and five sisters, Mrs. Hugh Parker of Mingo, Mrs. Effie Sash of Melbourne, Mrs. Meria Jorgensen of Grinnell, Mrs. Vilpha Knutz and Mrs. Jack Roberts, both of Newton.

Funeral arrangements are pending word from the relatives in California. The Baumgardner Funeral Home in Colfax is in charge of funeral arrangements. ~ The Newton Daily News September 13, 1950
